Project Overview
When the Carter family’s new home was finally finished, it looked beautiful — but it was not livable yet. Fine construction dust coated every surface, stickers covered windows and appliances, and sawdust had settled into vents, cabinets, and corners. With their moving day just hours away, they needed the space fully cleaned, safely and correctly.
Our post-construction team stepped in and handled the entire home in one coordinated visit. We removed fine dust from walls, cabinets, vents, and floors, cleared adhesive residue from all fixtures and glass, detailed tile and bathrooms, and cleaned behind and inside every built-in surface. By the time we finished, the house was no longer a job site — it was a clean, healthy home ready for a family to move in.
Challenges
- 1Ubiquitous Fine Dust: Construction dust had settled on every horizontal and vertical surface, including inside cabinets, closets, and on all window sills and tracks. This type of dust can be hazardous to breathe and is difficult to remove completely.
- 2Adhesive and Sticker Residue: All new appliances, windows, and fixtures were covered in protective stickers and glue, which had baked on and required careful removal without damaging surfaces.
- 3Sawdust and Debris in Unseen Areas: Vents, behind appliances, and within drawers were filled with sawdust, wood shavings, and other construction debris.
- 4Hard Water Stains and Grout Haze: The new tiles in the bathrooms and kitchen had grout haze and potential hard water stains from the plumbers' and installers' work.
- 5Tight Deadline: The moving truck was scheduled for the following day, leaving a narrow window to complete the entire deep clean.
Solutions
- 1Top-to-Bottom Dust Elimination: We began by using HEPA-filter vacuums on all surfaces to capture the fine dust without spreading it into the air. This was followed by a thorough wet-wiping of all walls, ceilings, and baseboards with specialized dust-cloth microfiber towels.
- 2Careful Residue Removal: Our team used professional-grade, non-abrasive solvents and plastic scrapers to gently and safely remove all stickers, glue, and tape marks from windows, appliances, and fixtures, leaving zero residue or scratches.
- 3Deep System Cleaning: We removed and cleaned all vent covers, vacuuming out the ducts as far as possible. We pulled out all appliances to clean behind and underneath them, and emptied all sawdust from cabinets and drawers before sanitizing them.
- 4Tile and Fixture Detailing: We performed a detailed scrub on all tile surfaces to remove grout haze and used eco-friendly descalers to eliminate hard water stains on faucets and shower glass, restoring their original shine.
- 5Efficient Team Coordination: Our team of four specialists worked in a dedicated workflow: one pre-vacuuming, two on detailed surface cleaning, and one focusing solely on floors and final mopping. This allowed us to work systematically through the home and meet the tight deadline.
